the class that was in high school during the years of WWII. In 1949 Dean graduated from Luther College, Decorah, IA.

On 20 Sep 1952 Dean married LaRue Jacqueline Lee at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church. LaRue was born 21 Aug 1933 on a farm on Clay Hill. She was baptized and confirmed at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church. LaRue attended grade schools in Frankville and Glenwood Twps. and graduated from Decorah High School in 1951. LaRue worked at Lange’s Jewelry & Sporting Goods, Decorah before and after marriage and Dean farmed with his father until Jan 1954 when he entered the United States Army. LaRue and Dean lived in Mankato, MN from Oct 1954 to Jan 1956 while Dean traveled in southern MN and sometimes eastern SD for Army Intelligence. Dean’s career after his discharge from military service in 1956 has been in public accounting.

From Jul 1956 to Oct 1958 the Hagens lived in Berwyn, IL where Dean worked for Alexander Grant & Co. and con-tinued his accounting education at Northwestern University’s Chicago campus. In late Oct 1958 they moved to Cresco, IA. He received his CPA certificate 3 Aug 1959 and began practice as a sole practitioner that year. Since then he has been with three accounting groups and is now semi-retired from Hagen & Kallevang, PC. In 1984 Dean and LaRue moved to Decorah where they now reside.

They have 4 children: Constance, Richard, Georgiann and David. The children occupied most of LaRue’s time until she began working in the Howard-Winneshiek School, Cresco. In 1982 she became first baker at Luther College and has worked during the school year since then.

Connie graduated from Waldorf and Luther College and is married to Wesley Brinkmann, a Wartburg College graduate who works at Donaldson Co., Cresco. She has a stepdaughter and 2 stepsons: Nora, Jarred and John. Rick spent a year at Luther then graduated from power linemen’s school in Sheldon, IA. He works for Hawkeye Tri-county Electric Cooperative, Cresco. He married Sandra Bruning, a dietitian at Howard County Hospital, Cresco. They have 3 children: Jacob (6), Nicholas (4) and Ryan (21. Georgiann a Wartburg College graduate received her Master's degree from Viterbo College, LaCrosse, Wl in 1995 and teaches 7th and 8th grade English in the Boone Community School Dist., Boone, la. David a Luther College graduate is enrolled in medical school at the State University of Iowa. Between Luther and the U of I he worked a year in retail clothing, received a Master's degree in Anthropology from Tulsa University, Tulsa, OK. He lived and worked in Taiwan for almost 3 years, taught in the Upward Bound program at Luther and took additional science courses at Luther in preparation for medical school.

The children all graduated from Howard-Winneshiek Community Schools so the Decorah-Cresco rivalry is alive in the Hagen family, especially during football season.

Hagensick, Jack & Sally (Schultz)

Jack Hagensick married Sally Schultz 27 Dec 1953. Sally Jean is the daughter of Roy and Genevieve Schultz. She attended Bloomfield #10 School for 8 years. She was the only student in her grade, then attended Postville High School.

Jack and Sally farmed in Bloomfield Twp. until 1965 when they purchased their present farm in Glenwood Twp. where they are still farming. They are members of the Glenwood Lutheran Church where Jack has served on Council and Sally has held various offices of the GLCW and circles. They are members of Farm Bureau where Sally is active on the Women’s Committee. They went to Washington, D.C. in Sep 1995 where Sally was the delegate from Winneshiek Co. to lobby the members of Congress on farm issues.

They have 5 children: Ricky, Barbara, Rodney, Brenda and Russell. Ricky Lee . He graduated from Waukon High School in 1972. He married Rhonda Stamper in Feb of 1977 in the newly constructed log cabin of his grandpa Schultz at Walden Pond. They are divorced. He then married Charlene Thomas 24 Aug 1991. They are both employed at Northern Engraving in Waukon. Rick has 4 children: Travis, Cory, Callie and Michael. Travis Michael Stamper is presently residing on the Schultz homestead in Bloomfield Twp. where his great-grandfather Roy Schultz was born. Cory John ; Callie Jo and
